Indie Music, Movies, Books, Comic Books, Indie Creators and Board Games!
The Official Indie Originals YEAR TWO Competition has been EXTENDED due to the Coronavirus.

Entries will be accepted through JUNE 15, 2020 with winners being announced no later than August 15th.

Fellow Indie Creators,

Our thoughts are with you, your colleagues, and your loved ones as we continue to navigate through the uncertainties of COVID-19. Throughout the past few weeks and months, many of you have had to balance work life with increased personal responsibilities, which isn't easy.

COVID-19 has changed the landscape for all of us and continues to evolve. And while the challenges of each business are unique, we are all being impacted in some way - whether that is through changes in demand and traffic, or operating effectively while working from home.

With all that is happening around us, we want to reassure you that we are here for you as you continue to create through these unprecedented times. While you look for ways to connect and stay in touch with your fans, we wanted to reiterate our ongoing commitment to support you and our industry.

As the world's businesses grinded to a halt, paychecks are in short supply. Shows were postponed or cancelled, and some businesses may not be able to reopen. Rather than ask indie creators to spend money on a contest over buying food or paying rent, we've decided to extend the 2020 entry deadlines. The new dates are as follows:

  • PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT DATE: No later than the first or second week of October 2020. But you can share your news and award as soon as you're notified.

Also, we will not raise our entry fees until after June 15th. We know indie creators work with shoestring budgets, as we do here. Our entry fees are already considerably lower than most competitions, and you have our word they'll stay that way.

Thanks again for your support!

Chuck, Jake, and Felicia

Indie Originals Live (IOL) is a podcast featuring things that are important to indie creators. The response to our show has been phenomenal! Listen for yourself on Spotify, iTunes, IHeartRadio, YouTube, and hundreds of other places all over the world. Building on the success of IOL, producers Chuck Fresh and Jake Estrada created a 501(C)(3) non-profit competition for independent filmmakers, indie authors, and indie musicians to have their stories recognized and featured. In our second year, we are proud to present an expanded competition featuring music, film, literature, comics, video games, and board games. You can enter the competition right now on this website. Early admission discounts are now in effect so enter your creative works ASAP!

We will issue awards, laurels, and mentions to several category winners and finalists. Grand prize winners in each of the six categories will win a prize package worth well over $2,500 (and growing) including:

  • A $1,000 production prize package from Indie Originals that includes a feature 22 to 44 minute video interview with performance or product clips that will air on our YouTube channel

  • Mentions of your performance or product on our nationally syndicated podcast heard on Spotify, YouTube, iTunes, IHeartRadio, and several other outlets

  • Perpetual use of our trademarked Indie Originals® laurels on your award-winning product and in your merchandising

  • A custom engraved trophy or printed specialty award

  • A listing and link on our website and social media sites for at least one full year

  • A mention and/or clip in our 2020 winners videos published to YouTube and Facebook

The winners of our first competition were announced during a live independent creator exhibition and convention called “IndieCon 2019” in Melbourne, Florida last June. Eight indie bands played, winning movie contestants had films screened, and independent authors shared tips. There was an amazing energy in the room, and we immediately began planning the second year.  We look forward to meeting you at IndieCon 2020!
